Growth in New Users
Growing the number of new API users is pretty obvious. That is what we all want. But it needs to be listed on your API evangelism strategy so you think about it constantly, ask it regularly and constantly innovate how you will attract new developers.
New developers will come from all areas of your API evangelism efforts. There will be many different ways to get developers in the door, but only some will convince them to continue to use your API.
New developers are often the leading KPI for new API efforts. While new developers are the life blood your API evangelism efforts, it shouldn't blind you from establishing other KPIs, that are more meaningful to your success.
